Radio Freedom stands firm in its mission: to expose the truth about the South African reality.
We will counter the lies and distortions peddled by right-wing forces and the counter-revolution regarding the aims and objectives of the NDR and the developmental state.
We will amplify the lived experiences of the South African people, grounded in the undeniable legacy of apartheid.
The stark realities of income inequality, the continued dominance of white individuals in executive positions, and the disproportionately high unemployment rates among Black South Africans, all backed by empirical evidence, paint a clear picture of the ongoing struggle for true liberation.
Drawing strength from the foundational principles outlined in the ANC’s “Ready to Govern” policy guidelines of 1992 – the pursuit of self-determination, overcoming inequality and injustice, developing a sustainable economy, and fostering national unity – Radio Freedom seeks to reignite the spirit of the liberation struggle in the face of new challenges. We acknowledge the complex political landscape, including the formation of a Government of National Unity (GNU) following the 2024 elections, and the questions surrounding its ability to effectively advance the NDR.
Our raison d’être is to cultivate a truly South African vision, untainted by the prejudices of the past, drawing on the wisdom and talents of all its people.
Through our social media content strategy, “The Voices of Change,” we will explore South Africa’s journey towards democracy, the persistent challenges of inequality, poverty, unemployment, crime, corruption, and poor service delivery, and offer reflections on the 30 years of democracy, analyzing electoral outcomes and the shifting sands of our political landscape.
Understanding the terrain of the intensifying battle of ideas is paramount.
We will dissect the manifestations of this struggle, from pronouncements predicting the disintegration of the ANC and the GNU to the distortion of the NDR and the narrative of a receding state. We recognize the sinister hand of counter-revolution at play.
We acknowledge the warnings of a potential failed state by the early 2030s, as highlighted by research measuring state performance against security, governance, prosperity, and welfare.
Ultimately, Radio Freedom is committed to providing a platform for truth, exposing distortions, and amplifying the voices of change as South Africa continues its journey towards a truly equitable and just society.
